Never heard of Allday? Let me give you a brief rundown before we get started: Born in Adelaide, Tom Gaynor (AKA Allday) entered the Australian music scene in 2011 when he started uploading his music to the internet for free. Tom then made the move to Melbourne to pursue his music career and subsequently released his debut album Startup Cult in July 2014, which reached #3 on the ARIA charts. As of February this year Tom is based out of Los Angeles, California. I also feel obliged to add that he cuts his own hair and does a mighty fine job of doing so.

Yesterday on his Facebook, Allday made an announcement (or should I say four) that left his fans shook. Let me give you the basic rundown, because this is a lot of information to take in at once.

Firstly, Allday’s new song In Motion featuring none other than Australian producer Japanese Wallpaper was debuted on Triple J just a few days ago (and is now available on Spotify & iTunes). The song strays slightly from Allday’s usual sound, but is still nothing short of a soft melody banger.

Secondly, his new album ‘Speeding’ is now available for pre-order; and if that’s not exciting enough for you, every pre-order comes with the chance to attend to a listening party in your capital city with Allday himself in attendance. If you’re in the market for some new threads as well as the album, there are also merch packs available.

The new album features 12 songs, and includes already released singles ‘Sides’, ‘Raceway’ & ‘In Motion’. From the looks of the track list, we have a lot to look forward to, with honourable mentions to not one, but two cameos from Brisbane rap princess Mallrat.

Lastly, Allday is gracing us with yet another tour (can I get a hallelujah?). He’ll be hitting up Melbourne, Sydney, Perth & Brisbane this July. Tickets go on sale next Friday the 29th of March at 9am sharp, so make sure to set your alarms.
